Ingredients

  • 300 g beef
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 1 cup lettuce

Method

  1. Thinly slice 300 g of beef against the grain and place it in a bowl with 2 tbsp of soy sauce and 3 cloves of minced garlic, tossing to coat evenly and letting it marinate for at least 10 minutes.
  2. Heat a skillet or grill pan over high heat until smoking hot, then add the marinated beef in a single layer without overcrowding the pan.
  3. Cook the beef for 2-3 minutes per side, allowing it to caramelize and develop a slightly charred, savory crust characteristic of authentic bulgogi technique.
  4. Transfer the cooked beef to a plate and sprinkle 1 tbsp of sesame seeds over the top while still hot.
  5. Separate 1 cup of lettuce leaves into individual cups, arranging them on a serving platter to act as the wrap shells.
  6. Spoon the bulgogi beef into each lettuce cup and serve immediately so the lettuce stays crisp and fresh against the warm, saucy beef.
