Ingredients
- 300 g beef
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 3 cloves garlic
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds
- 1 cup lettuce
Method
- Thinly slice 300 g of beef against the grain and place it in a bowl with 2 tbsp of soy sauce and 3 cloves of minced garlic, tossing to coat evenly and letting it marinate for at least 10 minutes.
- Heat a skillet or grill pan over high heat until smoking hot, then add the marinated beef in a single layer without overcrowding the pan.
- Cook the beef for 2-3 minutes per side, allowing it to caramelize and develop a slightly charred, savory crust characteristic of authentic bulgogi technique.
- Transfer the cooked beef to a plate and sprinkle 1 tbsp of sesame seeds over the top while still hot.
- Separate 1 cup of lettuce leaves into individual cups, arranging them on a serving platter to act as the wrap shells.
- Spoon the bulgogi beef into each lettuce cup and serve immediately so the lettuce stays crisp and fresh against the warm, saucy beef.
