Ingredients

  • 50 g Cheddar
  • 100 g ham
  • 50 g cornichons
  • 4 pieces hard-boiled eggs
  • 2 tbsp mustard
  • 1 cup lettuce

Method

  1. Bring a pot of water to a boil and gently lower the eggs into the water, then simmer for 22 minutes until hard-boiled.
  2. While the eggs cook, slice the Cheddar into thin wedges and arrange on a serving platter with the ham.
  3. Drain the hard-boiled eggs and let them cool for a few minutes, then peel and halve them.
  4. Arrange the lettuce on the platter as a base, then distribute the egg halves, cornichons, and mustard alongside the cheese and ham.
  5. Serve the ploughman's lunch at room temperature with the mustard on the side for spreading or dipping.
