Ingredients

  • 150 g beef steak
  • 1 small scallions
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 50 g mirin
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds

Method

  1. Slice the beef steak thinly against the grain into sheets approximately 2-3 mm thick.
  2. Cut the scallion into 3-inch lengths and arrange them in a line across each beef slice.
  3. Roll each beef slice tightly around the scallion to form a compact cylinder and secure with a toothpick if needed.
  4. Heat a skillet over high heat and sear the beef negimaki rolls for about 1 minute per side until the exterior is browned.
  5. Pour the soy sauce and mirin into the skillet, allowing the glaze to coat the rolls for approximately 30 seconds.
  6. Transfer the negimaki to a serving plate and sprinkle with sesame seeds immediately while still warm.
