- 150 g beef steak
- 1 small scallions
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 50 g mirin
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds
Method
- Slice the beef steak thinly against the grain into sheets approximately 2-3 mm thick.
- Cut the scallion into 3-inch lengths and arrange them in a line across each beef slice.
- Roll each beef slice tightly around the scallion to form a compact cylinder and secure with a toothpick if needed.
- Heat a skillet over high heat and sear the beef negimaki rolls for about 1 minute per side until the exterior is browned.
- Pour the soy sauce and mirin into the skillet, allowing the glaze to coat the rolls for approximately 30 seconds.
- Transfer the negimaki to a serving plate and sprinkle with sesame seeds immediately while still warm.
