Ingredients

  • 300 g beef strips
  • 60 g yogurt
  • 2 medium tomato sauce
  • 200 g fried zucchini

Method

  1. Heat a heavy skillet or cast iron pan over high heat until very hot, then sear the beef strips for 6 to 8 minutes, turning occasionally, until browned and cooked through.
  2. Reduce the heat to medium and pour the tomato sauce over the beef strips, stirring to coat evenly and simmering for 5 to 7 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  3. While the beef and tomato sauce simmer, warm the fried zucchini in a separate pan over medium heat for 3 to 4 minutes until heated through.
  4. Arrange the fried zucchini as a base on a serving plate, then spoon the beef strips and tomato sauce over the top.
  5. Dollop the yogurt generously over the beef and tomato sauce just before serving, allowing the cool yogurt to contrast with the hot kebab in the traditional Turkish style.
