Ingredients
- 2 stalks celery
- 300 g beef cubes
- 50 g carrots
- 1 small onion
- 1 (juiced) lemon
- 2 tbsp olive oil
Method
- Heat the olive oil in a heavy-bottomed pot over medium-high heat and sear the beef cubes for about 5 minutes, turning them until browned on all sides.
- Add the chopped celery stalks and sliced carrots to the pot and stir to combine with the beef cubes.
- Pour in enough water to just cover the ingredients, then reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer covered for approximately 25 minutes until the beef is tender and the vegetables are soft.
- Stir in the freshly squeezed lemon juice during the final 2 minutes of cooking to brighten the dish with its characteristic Turkish tang.
- Remove the pot from the heat, let it rest for 3 minutes, then serve the etli kereviz warm directly from the pot.
