Ingredients

  • 300 g beef cubes
  • 2 pieces pepper
  • 2 medium tomato
  • 150 g mushrooms
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 60 g mozzarella topping

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (390°F) for 5 minutes while preparing the ingredients.
  2. Place the beef cubes in a heavy-bottomed oven-safe pot and sear over medium-high heat for 3-4 minutes until browned on all sides.
  3. Add the diced tomatoes, sliced peppers, and quartered mushrooms to the pot with the beef, stirring to combine.
  4. Cover the pot with a lid and braise in the preheated oven for 35 minutes until the beef is tender and the vegetables are softened.
  5. Remove the pot from the oven and sprinkle the mozzarella topping evenly over the braised beef and vegetables.
  6. Return the uncovered pot to the oven for 3-4 minutes until the cheese melts and begins to brown lightly.
  7. Serve the oven-braised beef directly from the pot while hot.
