Ingredients

  • 200 g zucchini
  • 300 g ground meat
  • 2 medium tomato sauce
  • 60 g mozzarella
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 tbsp parsley

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (390°F) and slice the zucchini lengthwise into thin planks, then arrange them in a single layer in a baking dish.
  2. Press the garlic cloves and combine them with the ground meat, mixing thoroughly until the aromatics are evenly distributed throughout the meat.
  3. Spread the ground meat mixture over the zucchini planks, then spoon the tomato sauce generously on top to cover the meat layer.
  4. Transfer the baking dish to the preheated oven and bake for 25 minutes until the meat is cooked through and the zucchini is tender.
  5. Remove the dish from the oven, scatter the mozzarella evenly over the top, and return it to the oven for a further 10 minutes until the cheese is melted and golden.
  6. Finish by sprinkling freshly chopped parsley over the dish before serving hot.
