Ingredients

  • 300 g ground meat
  • 80 g mozzarella filling
  • 1 small onion
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 2 medium tomato sauce

Method

  1. In a large bowl, combine 300 g of ground meat and mix thoroughly until the mixture is uniform and holds together well.
  2. Divide the ground meat into equal portions, flatten each portion in your palm, place a piece of mozzarella filling in the center, and seal the meat around the cheese to form tight, round meatballs.
  3. Heat a wide, heavy-bottomed pan over medium-high heat and sear the meatballs on all sides for approximately 5 minutes until a golden-brown crust forms.
  4. Pour the tomato sauce over and around the seared meatballs in the pan, ensuring they are well coated.
  5. Reduce the heat to low, cover the pan with a lid, and simmer the meatballs in the tomato sauce for 40 minutes until they are fully cooked through and the sauce has thickened.
  6. Serve the cheesy meatballs hot, spooning the rich tomato sauce generously over each portion.
