Ingredients
- 300 g ground meat
- 200 g spinach
- 1 small onion
- 3 cloves garlic
- 2 medium tomato paste
- 2 tbsp butter
Method
- Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat until it begins to foam.
- Add the ground meat to the skillet and cook for about 10 minutes, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon, until browned and cooked through.
- Stir in the tomato paste and cook for 4 minutes, allowing the paste to caramelize slightly and coat the meat evenly.
- Add the spinach to the skillet in batches, folding it into the meat mixture and cooking for 10 minutes until the spinach is fully wilted and any released liquid has evaporated.
- Reduce the heat to low and let the dish simmer uncovered for a final 5 minutes so the flavors meld together into a cohesive Turkish-style kızartma.
- Remove from heat and allow the dish to rest for 2 minutes before serving hot directly from the skillet.
