Ingredients

  • 1 small green onion
  • 1 tsp sumac
  • 1 tbsp parsley
  • 1 (juiced) lemon
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 pieces red pepper flakes

Method

  1. Trim the roots and any wilted tips from the green onion, then slice it thinly on a slight diagonal into a mixing bowl.
  2. Add the chopped parsley and red pepper flakes to the bowl with the sliced green onion.
  3. Drizzle the olive oil and freshly squeezed lemon juice over the ingredients in the bowl.
  4. Sprinkle the sumac evenly over the salad and toss everything together until the green onion is well coated.
  5. Allow the salad to rest for 5 minutes before serving so the sumac and lemon juice meld into the green onion.
