- 1 tsp paprika

Method
- Cut the beef into bite-sized cubes and set aside while you prepare the remaining ingredients.
- Dice the tomatoes and green pepper into small pieces, keeping them separate for staggered addition to the pot.
- Heat a heavy-bottomed pot over medium-high heat, add the beef cubes, and sear them for 4-5 minutes until browned on all sides.
- Sprinkle the paprika over the browned beef and stir vigorously for 30 seconds to bloom the spice directly in the rendered fat, a classic Hungarian technique.
- Add the diced tomatoes and green pepper to the pot, stir to combine, and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.
