Ingredients

  • 200 g shrimp paste
  • 30 g almond flour bread
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 1 tsp ginger
  • 3 cloves garlic

Method

  1. Spread the shrimp paste evenly and generously over each slice of almond flour bread, pressing it firmly so it adheres to the surface.
  2. Mix the ginger and garlic into the shrimp paste layer, distributing them evenly across all slices.
  3. Sprinkle the sesame seeds over the shrimp paste-topped bread slices, pressing them lightly so they embed into the paste.
  4. Heat a pan over medium-high heat and shallow-fry the prawn toast paste-side down for approximately 4-5 minutes until the shrimp paste is golden and cooked through.
  5. Flip the slices carefully and fry the almond flour bread side for a further 2-3 minutes until crisp and lightly browned.
  6. Remove the prawn toast from the pan, drain briefly on paper towel, and serve immediately while hot and crisp.
