- 300 g beef steak rolls
- 2 tbsp mustard
- 50 g cornichons
- 100 g bacon
- 1 small onion
- 2 tbsp bone broth
Method
- Lay the beef steak rolls flat on a clean work surface and spread 1 tablespoon of mustard evenly over each piece.
- Place the bacon strips, cornichons, and onion along the center of each beef steak roll, then roll them up tightly and secure with toothpicks or kitchen twine.
- Heat a heavy skillet over medium-high heat and sear the rouladen on all sides for approximately 4-5 minutes until a deep brown crust forms.
- Deglaze the pan with the bone broth, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom, then reduce the heat to medium-low.
- Cover the skillet and braise the rouladen for 10-11 minutes, turning once halfway through, until the beef is cooked through and tender.
- Remove the toothpicks or twine, spoon the pan juices over the rouladen, and serve immediately.
