  • 2 slices Almond flour bread
  • 3 slices (1.5 oz) Black Forest ham
  • 1/3 cup (40g) Gruyère cheese, shredded
  • 1 Large egg
  • 1.5 tbsp Butter
  • 1/4 cup Heavy cream
  • 1 tbsp Cream cheese
  • 1/2 tsp Dijon mustard
  • to taste Nutmeg, salt, pepper

Method

  1. Make bechamel as in the Croque Monsieur and assemble the sandwich.
  2. Broil 4-5 minutes until cheese is golden.
  3. Meanwhile, fry an egg in 1/2 tbsp butter, sunny-side up.
  4. Crown the sandwich with the fried egg and serve hot.
