Ingredients
- 2 slices Almond flour bread
- 3 slices (1.5 oz) Black Forest ham
- 1/3 cup (40g) Gruyère cheese, shredded
- 1 tbsp Butter
- 1/4 cup Heavy cream
- 1 tbsp Cream cheese
- 1/2 tsp Dijon mustard
- pinch Nutmeg, freshly grated
- to taste Salt and pepper
Method
- Make bechamel: melt butter in a small saucepan, whisk in cream cheese, then heavy cream. Simmer 2 minutes until thick. Stir in nutmeg, salt, and pepper.
- Spread dijon on bread slices. Layer ham and half the gruyère between them.
- Place sandwich on a baking sheet. Spoon bechamel over the top; sprinkle remaining gruyère.
- Broil 4-5 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Slice and serve hot.
