Ingredients

  • 2 slices Almond flour bread (with caraway)
  • 5 oz (140g) Ground beef (80% lean)
  • 1/3 cup Yellow onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 slices (56g) Swiss cheese
  • 1.5 tbsp Butter
  • to taste Salt and black pepper

Method

  1. Melt 1/2 tbsp butter in a skillet over medium. Caramelize onion 8-10 minutes until deeply golden; set aside.
  2. Form beef into a thin patty wider than the bread. Sear 2 minutes per side over high heat; season with salt and pepper.
  3. Layer one slice with swiss, onion, patty, more swiss, then top slice.
  4. Wipe skillet, melt remaining butter, and griddle sandwich 2 minutes per side until crisp and cheese melts.
  5. Slice on the diagonal and serve hot.
