Ingredients

  • 50 g green lentils (small portion)
  • 300 g cubed beef
  • 1 small onion
  • 2 medium tomato
  • 2 pieces pepper
  • 1 tbsp mint

Method

  1. Heat a large pot over medium-high heat and brown the cubed beef for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally until the surface is sealed.
  2. Add the diced tomato and sliced pepper to the pot and sauté for 3 minutes until the vegetables begin to soften.
  3. Stir in the green lentils and add enough water to cover the ingredients by about 1 inch, then bring to a simmer.
  4. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 12 minutes until the lentils are tender and the beef is cooked through.
  5. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed, then stir in the fresh mint just before serving.
